Nursing home Daughters Katie and Maria

It all started years back when my leg started to get tired. Then finally came to complete loss of use of my right leg due to block artery.

I went to ER and they performed emergency surgery.put a stint in my leg , and returned circulation to it.

By this time my leg was already injured.Nerve damage ,and Gangrene was setting in.

I was in ICU and nursing home for three weeks. Then sent home to recuperate and let my body heal.

I have dry Gangrene in two of my toes.

"Gross I know" don't worry not contagious.

the prognosis is loss of ,part of each toe.The black parts.

So that's where I am at right now.

I'll post more as it goes, and pics to see progress,

Talk to you later

support ,and the great medical staff)

Having an amputation – even a so-called ‘minor amputation’ such as having one of your toes or fingers removed – can have a profound negative emotional impact.
Having an entire limb removed can cause serious psychological complications. People often grieve for the loss of their limb in the same way they would grieve for the loss of a loved one.

One quarter of patients will develop septic shock which has a high fatality rate.

Outcomes of finger and toe gangrene

Symmetrical peripheral gangrene has a poor prognosis. Mortality is said to approach 40%. The reason for this prognosis is usually the underlying disease. Local outcomes are also horrific. Finger and toe gangrene results in mummification and amputation. This is often painful. In some cases there is also infection.

MayoClinic.com notes that dry gangrene is not caused by or usually associated with infections, unlike wet gangrene. However, in a patient with impaired immunity, bacteria may colonize the dead tissues, resulting in a secondary infection. If secondary infection of a gangrene occurs, the treatment becomes urgent before the bacteria spreads to the blood stream, causing a generalized life-threatening condition called septicemia.

Autoamputation is the spontaneous detachment (amputation) of an appendage from the body.[1] This is not to be confused with self-amputation. It is usually due to destruction of the blood vessels feeding an extremity such as the finger tips. Once the vessels are destroyed, the tissue dies, which is often followed by gangrene. Autoamputation is a feature of ainhumcryoglobulinemia [2] and Thromboangiitis obliterans.

severe possible complications
Septic shock is a medical condition as a result of severe infection and sepsis, though the microbe may be systemic or localized to a particular site.[1] It can cause multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (formerly known as multiple organ failure) and death.[1] Its most common victims are children, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly, as their immune systems cannot deal with the infection as effectively as those of healthy adults. Frequently, patients suffering from septic shock are cared for in intensive care units. The mortality rate from septic shock is approximately 25–50%
